I William Rear have been researching our family tree for about 8 to 10 years or so.The imediate surnames I have been closely interested in are as follows; REAR PHILBY CHRISTY MANGNALL McWARD BROWN STOGDELL BARNES At the present time I have a few generations back on the CHRISTY, MANGNALL, & 2 to 3 generations on the others. Most all of the information I have on the CHRISTY'S was sent to me by Karen MEEKER,and Almost all of the information I have on the MANGNALL'S was sent to me by Tom and Betty MANGNALL.I have always made it a habit to thank anyone who has helped me in my research.I live here in the USA and had a wonderful lady in England do some research on her own time on the REAR surname, out of the generosity of her own heart.I certainly have appreciated her help most highly, and also I want to thank again everyone who has been most helpful in my research.I have also recieved most of the information on the McWARD'S from Wanda SALSMAN.I can't help but mention this as it is almost unheard of in this day and age.I had posted on the MY GEN FORUM and got a responce from a Slyvia LAARHUIS who informed me of one of her relation who might have some information on the REAR surname. I wrote Marvin REAR who just so happened to have a book that his father had done on the REAR surname. He mailed it to me, I copied it and returned it in its original condition to him imediately. One has to realize that to mail a precious item like that to a complete stranger ( who he didn't know from a load of hay ) has to say something about this person.I can't tell you how much this meant to me.This book was invaluable in finding out more about my grandfather. Also thank you Debra FOSTER for your help. Just recently I received more information on my grandfather Joseph rear from Marjorie REAR in England which I appreciated very much.I hope I have not missed anyone. BILL & PAT REAR
