Patrick & Mary Redmond arrived in Perry County, Somerset, Ohio about 1820 with their family. They were farmers and came from Wexford County, Ireland. There are two Catholic Cemeteries in Somerset where family members are buried. St. Joseph's Catholic Church Cemetery, which was the first Catholic Church in Ohio, has two cemeteries. There is an old cemetery next to the Church and a newer cemetery that is still on church property. There are Redmond's in both of these cemteries. Holy Trinity Catholic Church cemetery has other members of the family and is where my father, grandparents and great grandparents are buried.

It was located on Hook Head Ireland. The Redmonds were dispossessed of much of their property, including Redmond's Hall, during the upheavals of the 17th century. At that location now stands Loftus Hall, after grantee, Nicholas Loftus.
