About Our Family Research

We are currently in the process of tracing our roots back to Ireland, Scotland, England, Germany, and France. Some of our ancestors came as Lanark Society Settlers, and inter-married with families that were long established in the new world. The Loucks were Palentines who came to New York from Germany around 1700. They came north to Canada as Loyalists after the American Revolution. The Minthornes are cousins of American president Herbert Hoover. They traveled west and south and back again, in search of their dream - sometimes leaving a well-defined trail, but often leaving very little trace of their wanderings. It is our hope that one day we will be able to connect them all together.
