My family history on my fathers side has me seriously stump. I know a little about my fathers childhood and upbringing, only his mothers first and maiden name, and about the year she was born, and I know a little about his grandfather. Let me start with my fathers information: Theodore Adam Kowalski Sept. 25, 1939 to Aug. 29, 1996. He was born in Pearl City, Honolulu County, Hawaii, adopted by his grandfather in 1942 in Hawaii, then put into foster care after they left Hawaii and moved to, I believe, California. In 1957 Ted entered the U.S. Army, but was discharged in 1958, both in Colorado. Ted's mothers name is Julia Kowalski, she was born around 1919, but I'm not sure where. After giving Ted up for adoption, it is possible she stayed in Hawaii until around 1955 or so. Her father, Adam Kowalski, served in the Polish Army before entering America. Upon entering America, Adam joined the U.S. Army and served in WW1. He enlisted in, I believe, Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania but I'm not sure what year. He retired at Schoefield Barracks, Honolulu, Hawaii in 1942 as a Master Sergeant but I'm not sure of his infantry or anything. It is possible that Adam may have already been widowed before entering the U.S. but that hasn't been confirmed. Adam was born in Poland March 22, 1881 and died in Napa, California Oct. 8, 1955. He was buried at Golden Gate National Cemetary in San Bruno, San Mateo County, California on Oct. 18, 1955, his cemetary site is W and lot # is 11. My father, Theodore (Ted) Adam Kowalski died in Apache Junction, Pinal County, Arizona. Ted is not buried, he was cremated on Aug. 31, 1996 and that Thanksgiving his ashes were spread according to his last wishes. It is slim pickins, but that is the gist of the information that I have so far. I'd be much obliged to anyone who has anything relevant to this information, because as it is, I'm at a stand still. Sincerely, Jennifer Kowalski (Reed)
