The information posted on this page has been throughly researched by family members and verified through federal, state, and local records. Our family is seeking information on the families of Ezekiel Morgan and his wife, Katherine Arnold. Katherine's mother, Mary Ann "Polly," received a U.S. Treasury draft of $240 in the early 1830's [the last digit of the date is not clear]. The timing and the amount of the check is consistant with Revolutionary War pensions for veterans and/or widows. I haven't had any success in finding her husband's name. Little is known about Ezekiel [also spelled Ezekial]until 1821 when he paid a Literary Fund Tax in Monroe County, Mississippi. According to the information given by Samuel Morgan on the 1870 Federal Census, his mother, Katherine, was born in Kentucky. His father, Zeke, was born in Ohio. Katherine had an older sister, Melinda [also spelled Malinda] who was born in South Carolina. Melinda married Thomas Thompson in Monroe County, MS. Related families: Gholson, Meadors, Thompson, Booker, Sims, Shuford, Dilworth, Goddard, Wheeler, and Duckworth.
