Robert Smith married 1774 to Grace Braithwaite in England; both buried in Marathon Cemetery, Cortland Co., NY.They came to US in 1774, Robert served as Sergeant in NY Militia & fought in the Revolutionary War & they had their children: John, William, Robert, Abram, Martha, Elizabeth (Betsey), Kleanor Corley, Lorinda Badger, Smith, Rachiel Gray & Mary Polly.
Mary Polly Smith married 11 Feb 1817 Galesburg, IL to Artemus Davison; children: Areo Wilcox, Deidamia, Isaac Artemus, Elizabeth Grace, Clarissa Armeda, Artemus Smith, Horace Dewitt, Harriet Amelia, Sarah Allen, John Lowry & Ario Wilcox. Mary Polly married twice after Artemus died accidentally by a shotgun while hunting w/his son-in-law. #2 James Husted in 1847 IL & #3 Cezar Love 20 Sept 1855 IL, a blackman who worked on the farm, who's wife died. Ario Wilcox Davison(Civil War soldier Union) married 5 Feb 1874 Warren Co., IL to Ella Viola Cross d-18 Feb 1939 Great Falls, MT, bur: Scottsville, KS, her folks: George Bolivar Cross & Juliet Elizabeth Reynolds. George married 2 Dec 1847 Warren Co., IL; #2-23 Mar 1865 IL to Helen Lydia Bone b-10 Mar 1846 Galesburg, IL d-5 Apr 1928, buried in Abingdon, IL cemetery; children: Georgia b/d-22 Apr 1866 & Helen May b-19 Jan 1868 IL; only surviving daughter who married. Helen Lydia married twice after George died; #2-Frederick Moses Jackson Pool 7 Nov 1869 Warren Co., IL (divorced), #3-Samuel E. Roberts 11 Dec 1889 Warren Co., IL. George's folks: Thomas Cross married to Hannah M. Ario & Ella Davison's children: Sonora (d-@birth), Loyal Ario (Slick), Edward Smith, Amy Doris (Dora), Mary Millicent, John Lowery, Clarissa Armeda, Ario Wilcox (Pudge), Lura Ella & Nellie Kay. Nellie married 11 June 1914 Clay Center,Clay Co., KS to John Edward Hanson. John's folks: William James from Ireland & Augusta Wilhemina Tanzer from KS, married 1 Mar 1891 KS. Wm James' folks: James & Eliza Edmonds or Edmonson from County Tyrone, Ireland. Augusta's folks: Frederick & Henrietta Marie (Yetta) Tanzer from Germany; both buried in KS.
