I have just started, and here's what I know so far. The Reeds came to Richmond from Kentucky during the Civil War. James Manafee Reed, his Cherokee wife and three children: James Manafee, Jr., Wiley Jehue (b. Shelby County, Memphis, Tennessee January 6, 1852) and possibly a girl named Nellie. They settled in Richmond with other Kentuckians: Rippeys and Kincaids and were associates of the Hiram Page family (Mormons). Wiley Jahue married Charity Marley Rippey (b.April 2, 1863). Her mother was Amanda Kincaid (m. James Rippey,) and Amanda's mother was Margaret (widowed and later married James Manafee Reed after his Cherokee wife died). Charity had two brothers: James Rippey, Jr. and Wiliam Rippey, one sister, Annie & a step sister, Imogene, daughter of Amanda Kincaid Rippey & James Cotton. Charity had five sons: Luther J., Arthur J., Wiley,Jr., William T. & Chester C. And four daughters: Effie Anne, Grace Marley, Cecil Hyacinth, & Margaret (d. at one month).
