The Reinosa Quiñones Family from Puerto Rico

Updated March 14, 2007

About Our Family Research

When I was younger, I always wanted to find out more about my surname, Reinosa. I knew there was a town in northern Spain with the same name. I had actually requested information about it hoping I would receive a clue on where my family came from. About ten years later, here I am actually researching to find out who my ancestors were. I've received quite a few surprises so far. I've also been able to make a few connections with distant cousins. The information that sparked my drive to continue researching was seeing my grandfather's name on a list of killed Mariners during World War II. Suddenly, I had what ship he died on, USAT Dorchestor and the date, February 3, 1943. That was a year ago.
I am researching the following surnames: Reinosa, Cedeño, Quiñones, Velazco, Hernandez, Navedo, Laureano, Rosario. The towns of Puerto Rico which my family came from are: San Juam, Yauco, Utuado, Aguas Buenas, Guaynabo, Vega Baja, Juncos, and San Lorenzo.

This photo is a copy of a photo of my great-grandmother, Sarito. I've been trying to locate an original picture but haven't been able to find one yet. This one was sent to me by my newfound cousin, Wendy Hulick. Doesn't Sarito look beautiful. After I really observed the picture, I noticed that I inherited her hands.
