She married Mr. Christopher Camery in 1821. He was born in Winchester Co., Virginia in 1791 and died March 21, 1875, leaving 9 children, John, James, Christopher, David, Isaac, Elijah, Samuel, Mary, & Amanda J. Her maiden name was Nancy Messick. Mr. Camery was a soldier in the war of 1812, and served with distinction, and Mrs. C. claims a pension on his account. She owns 160 acres of land with good improvements."

Noticed you have documentation of George Messick & his family AND a possibilty for George's father (Elihu MESSICK). Of Elihu children there is a John & a James noted. Until recently I believed John to be the father of a Nancy Messick who married Christopher/Christian Camery from research my gr-aunt had done. However another desc states "James" is noted as Nancy's father on her marriage bond. Either way, it appears they both may be brothers of your George. Do you by chance have any documentation on either James and or John's families?

Elihu MESSICK's origins are unknown, but his line has a probable connection to Julian "Jewell" MESSICK, a possible French Heugonot who was transported to Accomack Co, VA in 1664/5 and who had several decendants named Elihu MESSICK. Early MESSICKs settled throughout DELMARVA penninsula.
