Isaac Walter* Camery was born near Wheeling, W. Va., April 2, 1831, and died at his home on North Main Street, June 26, 1920, at the age of 89 years, 2 months and 24 days.
He was the son of Christopher (Christian) and Nancy Camery, there being a family of nine boys and three girls. All of the brothers and one sister preceded him to the life beyond.
When but a small boy, Mr. Camery came with his parents to Gambier, Ohio, where they lived until the year of 1853. In the fall of that year the family moved to Illinois and settled on a farm just west of Henry and later to Saratoga township. The remainder of his entire life was spent in Henry or vicinity.
He was married to Emily* Kellogg October 2, 1864, and they spent over fifty-four years of life together, his wife having died Feb. 12, 1919.
Eight children were born to them - six girls and two boys.
Mr. Camery is survived by five children, Harry of Worthington, Minnesota, Ida at home, Nellie of Chicago, Cora Morse of Hopewell and Vera German of Holland, Minnesota, and two sisters, Mrs. Fred Raymond of Henry, and Mrs. Mary Applen of Milo. There are also thirteen living grandchildren and one great grandchild.
It is hard indeed to give full expression to all of the fine qualities which characterized Mr. Camery's entire life. He was a man of active as well as universal good will, and of perfect truthfulness towards all.
The remembrance of his unfailing kindness and devotion to his family will always be carried in the hearts and minds of those who are left to mourn their loss.
The pall bearers were C .L. Loomis, Simeon Doyle, J. O. Hill, Wm McAtee, C .E. Burt and G. M. Clark, old friends and neighbors of the deceased. Interment in Henry Cemetery. A. G. Smith, mortician.
The relatives and friends attending from a distance were Wm Edwards, his wife and two children of Kewanee; Harry, Fred, Chris and Norine Camery, nephews and niece of the deceased of Kewanee; two nieces, Mrs. Etta Henkins and Miss Anna Applen of Milo; Miss May Ebaugh, a grandaughter of Chicago, and Clare Brown, also of Chicago, besides his children, Harry of Worthington who has been with him for over a week and departed for his home at Worthington, Minn., Monday evening; Mrs. Charles German and little son who left for their Minnesota home Tuesday evening. His daughter, Miss Nellie Camery, a teacher in the Chicago schools, will spend her vacation here.
