Peter McVey (son of William McVey and Catherine Brannigan) was born January 15, 1893 in Blantyre, Lanark, Scotland, and died February 28, 1910 in Royal Infirmary, Glasgow.
Notes for Peter McVey: Peter was killed in a mine accident at age 17 at Bothwellpark Colliery. Article from newspaper reads:
PIT FATALITY
Peter McVey, 17 years of age, residing at 26 Green Street, Bothwell, met with an accident in the Bothwell Park Colliery on Monday night which resulted fatally. He was employed as an engineman, drawing up hutches of coal with a stationary engine. The engine has stopped, and McVey is said to have put his foot to it to make it start, when it moved suddenly, with the result that he was drawn in. He was removed in an ambulance waggon to the Royal Infirmary, Glasgow, where he died as a result of his injuries an hour after his admission.
