I have just started to research my husband's (Anthony Richard Rello) Family from Bari, Italy. When they came to the U.S. from Italy in 1920 to Ellis Island their last name was mistakingly changed to RELLO in lieu of RELLA in Italy. We lived in Roxbury, Ma.. Our family now lives in Brockton, Ma. My father-in-law died in Roxbury on July22,1967. He was born in Bari on July 22, 1893.
My Mother-in-law (Maria Fratepietro Rello) moved to Brockton with us. She died June 02 1987.She was born Sept. 02, 1897 in Bari, Italy. Maria had 3 brothers, Joseph, Nicola and Anthony. She had 2 sisters: Lucia and Cecilia. Nicola was born May 05, 1900 and died onOct. 01, 1986 Celia was born Feb. 14, 1892 and died on Dec. 12, 1962.
My father-in-law Matteo Rello and his brother Domonic Rello (Rella)came to the U.S. in 1920. Matteo ad Maria Fratepietro Rello had 6 children. Virginia, Josephine, Richard, Ann, Doninic and Anthony my husband).
Matteo had 2 brothers (Domonic and Salvatore). His parents were: Father -Ricardo Rella and his Mother: Vincenza DeLorenza
