Although I live in Kansas,all 4 sides of my family came from Benton county, Ark., around Bentonville & Pea Ridge. Some lived right over the line in McDonald co. Mo.
I got started researching my family after my husband sister ask me to write down our dates etc. when she was searching their Reynolds side of the family. When I was talking to my Aunt, she said here & dumped all these notes she had taken from years of going to family reunions in my lap. Oh, what a headache I had in trying to sort out scraps of paper & names & dates. I was ready to pull my hair out, when it dawned on me, that I had two Benton counties. One in Mo. & one in Ark. I had never been told that bit of news before.
But needless to say I was hooked. I started doing research before the computer age. This has made things so much easier. You can work at odd hours when you feel like it. From knowing only my Great grandfathers name, I can go back now to 1400. What a thrill.
