About Our Family Research

Let me begin with an interesting story. My Father got himself into trouble in the 30s and consequently changed his name from Reynolds to Newberry to hide in my opinion. Well, that was a long time ago and since finding the truth I have been researching the family tree(Reynolds). Then there's my mom's side. Her maiden name was Smith allthough I have since found out that she too is under an assumed name. Her real maiden name was VanMeter and she and her family hailed from Deadwood S.Dakota. Rumor has it that my G.G.G.Grand pappy was the town Barber at the time of Wild Bill Hickock's reign as Sheriff. Now, the town Barber was a very august personage in these fronteir towns because they were educated, and therefor looked up to. Not only were they barbers, they also dabbled in dentistry and veterinary work. So, we have spome real history there. It has also come to my attention, according to this and another website, that we are related to quite a few famous people. Given they were 2nd and 6th cousins 10 and 15 times removed, but it is still of great interest to the children in the famly when you show your tree to them and tell the stories of our lives to them.
I am certain of one thing and that is that if we ever have a reunion from these pages we'll have to sign for a whole park. And Portland has some of the largest city parks in the country.
Well it's time for me to go. I want everyone to make a comment or two andget this thing rolling. JUst imagine, if we were all of similar political views we would be a force to reaken with......Demo? Indy? Libert.? Nope.no republicans at this time. I've the right to refuse service to anyone....lol
