A few years ago I found out that one of my great uncles emmigrated from North Wales, U.K. to America with his family. Since my husband and I had also immigrated to America, I thought it would be neat to try to find any decendants of my uncle. My search started in North Wales, where I was born and where most of my parents' relatives still reside. I have gone back as far as 1792 and have gathered quite a bit of information from census records, birth records, marriage records, etc. But my main goal was trying to find my Uncle John who immigrated to the U.S. with his wife Jane (nee Lloyd) and their children Lloyd, John, Rhoda, Hugh Roland, Edward and Herbert. I have recently found them through the Ellis Island website. They arrived in New York on April 17, 1907 and were headed for Utica, New York. I am in the process of trying to find any descendants.
My hope in publishing my family tree is that someone related to my great uncle is looking for their ancestors in Wales. Most of the Evans clan still live in North Wales and would love to become acquainted with long-lost cousins!
Olivia Reynolds (nee Evans)
