The Garifuna Reyes Family Tree is a recolection of all Reyes from Garifuna descent located in Honduras, Guatemala, Belize and in the United States.
In 2001 A local family Reunion took place in El Triunfo De La Cruz, Tela, Honduras. Ruben Reyes where Ruben Reyes meet with elders and began developing his first investigation about the Reyes Ancestry.
In 2003, the first Genealogy book was published
In 2005, The first Global Family Reunion took place in The Bronx, New York, USA. Attendees came from all over the world.
In 2007, A World Family Reunion took place in Travesia, Cortes, Reyesigu came from all Garifuna Villages, from all Central American cities and from The United States Of America. The event lasted for 3 days. A digital genealogy presentation took place at this event and many found their name or ascendence in it.
Due to these events the Reyes global family has encounter a strong "wagabu" foundation to return to the path set for our forefathers.
We continue on the task of developing our genealogy tree, inviting all Reyes to participate in this never ending journey.
