We are a family that migrated to India in the late 1800's.My grandfather was JOHN HENRY RHINE. He was in the Indian Railways-based in Saharanpur-Uttar Pradesh. He was married to a lady Emily or Amelia Rhine. She bore him 4 children,REGINALD, IVY, GEORGE and GERTRUDE (Gertie).After the of his first wife, he married again and had some offsprings of which we have no information. He survived this wife and married a third time to Lilian Blanche Bird-Sturgeon.I have no knowledge of his date of passing away but his third wife passed away in 1966 in Delhi, India. Lilian used to speak of her sister Irene or Mary the name I cannot exactly remember but she also had a nephew by name Archie Peters who lived in Jhansi, India till the early 1960's.
I am the son of Reginald Edward Rhine. I am trying to find some information about our origins and ancestors. According to hearsay, John Henry Rhine used to speak about a place known as "SANTA CRUZ" but did not mention the country ever. Out of his 4 children mentioned above, only IVY is surviving here in India. GEORGE died in 1999 in England, GERTIE died in 1947 in Pakistan and REGINALD passed away in 1996 in India.Any information on any front would be more than welcome.
