I'm just beginning my search. Since my father's side of the family is from Georgia and Florida, I'm starting with that side.
My mother was born in Cuba. Her mother's name was Inez Maria (Napolis)-Fuentes. I don't know her father's name. He died long before I was born, and my mother died when I was 5 years old. My mother had one brother, Colelo Fuentes. Both parents of my father were born in Georgia. My dad thinks one of them might be from a town called Lax, GA. He also says one of them might come from somewhere near Thomasville, GA. I know that his parents are: Tilda Emma (Hutcheson) and William Louie Gibbs. He died in Freedom, N.C. in a motor vehicle accident.
I also know William's parents are: Emma (Coleman) and James Jackson Gibbs. Tilda's parents are: Elmina and Jeb Hutcheson. All are from Georgia. My Dad and his siblings were all born in Florida. 5/11/01
5/27/01 Today I received a phone call from my great-aunt Phyllis in West Melbourne. She was calling me back with some family names and dates from her mother's family bible. My great-great grandparents were: (J.J.'s parents) Thomas and Mary Gibbs; (Mary Emma's parents) William Thomas Wilson, b. 01/15/1867, d.03/26/1907; Frances Ryles Wilson, b. 11/28/1855,d. 01/22/1923.
