Charles A.Kopp,72, a prominent Clarence Township farmer who lived at 18110 29 1/2 mile road, RT 2, Springport, died in his sleep about 1am. Monday at his home.
He had retired in seeming good health. His wife awoke in the night to find him dead. Mr. Kopp was born in Clarence township, son of Frederick and Albertina (Wenzel) Kopp. He was a life long resident of the township. Mr. Kopp was a life member and active in the Salem United Church of Christ and its Men's Fellowship Club. He was a past president of the church and a member of the church consistory. He also belonged to Springport Lodge No. 284, F & A, M. Calhoun County Farm Bureau, and was a former board member of the FHA. He is survived by his wife, the former Angie Hoyer, to whom he was married March 17, 1920 , in Climax, Michigan. Also a son, Charles W. Kopp (Jr). at home. A brother, John Kopp, of Albion, two half brothers, Fred and William Rosenau, both of Albion and also two sisters, Mrs. Chris Miller of Springport and Mrs. George Robbins of Jackson, Mi.
Burial in Climax Prairie Home Cemetery, Climax, Michigan.
