Benjamin Sherman's father was Roger Sherman who was one of the signers of the "Declaration of Independence". He settled in Bennington,Vermont.
His father was Phillip Sherman who suppose to have come over on the Mayflower. (None of this has been confirmed)

Benjamin Sherman was raised in Bennington Vermont. In the later part of 1700, Benjamin migrated from Bennington, VT to New York and settled at a little settlement called "Murder Creek". About 20 miles east of Tonawanda, NY where he raised a family of several children. Only 3 names are know at this time. Eber, Eunice, and John Wesley Sherman. and John Wesley Sherman always went by Wesley Sherman.
this information was sent to my grandmother, Zella Rae Lillie Mar 9,1954 by her Uncle Norris who lived in Alpena, Michigan.
