Our Bowman Family came from Henderson, Tennessee in 1857. Joshua Bowman, son of Samuel Bowman. Joshua's wife, Sally Easley, and the children moved to Craighead County, AR. Her second son, Simon M. Bowman born 3/26/1847 in TN, was a prominent citizen of Lake City, AR Township. He and first wife, Sarah Harris, had two children. After her death in 1873 he married Sarah's sister, Alice Harris born 1859. Simon M. had twelve more children one being my Grandfather, Amos R. Bowman 1884-8/4/1947. My father, Homer E. Bowman 7/23/1913, was born in Craighead County, Arkansas & died 11/8/1986 in San Diego, CA. There are too many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins to mention. ***The research has linked Nicholas Bowman and sons, Samuel, George, Simeon & William Bowman to the German immigrant George Bowman. Nicholas was his Grandson. Nicholas, Samuel's father was born in PN, then to Shenandoah Cty, VA, then to Jefferson/Sevier Cty, TN, then Henderson Cty, TN.
