The Osborne's of Grayson County, Virginia

About Our Family Research


My grandfather was Frank Osborne,b.1893 in Alleg.NC.He married Bertha Burris b.1897 of Grayson County Va. He lived in Grayson County Va. Before he was married he worked in a furniture factory in Galax Va. He married Bertha Mae Burris 1897, she was the daughter of Emory J. Burris and Sarah Poole. Bertha and Frank married in April of 1914, and had seven children before he died while hunting on his property in Nov. 1929.
Bertha went on to married Swanson Osborne,(son of George and Nealy Osborne),the nephew of Frank Osborne.
Swanson lived in Independence as a child. When he married, he lived in Va. and Pa. They had four more children. One of the children was stillborn. He was the only child born in Pa. He was given a name and buried as Forrest Lee Osborne.
