My research on the Rhotehamel family only goes back to the birth of David C. Rhotehamel my GGrandfather in 1852 and his wife Clara Ann Ibaugh. Nothing shows up in the US Census's for David in Ohio. He does show up in the 1930 Census in Washington State, living with my grandparents, at the age of 78. I was however able to find family information on my GGrandmother Clara Ann Ibaugh's side of the family, back to Cyrus Ibaugh b. 1834, Peter Ibaugh his father and their spouses in Darke, Ohio. The Rhotehamel name as explained by my mother was changed due to mail delivery problems. It was originally spelled Rhodehammel, then Rhodehamel, then finally Rhotehamel. I believe the change took place in Ohio, 1850's if not sooner. I am not yet sure who is a relation and who is not.
