About Our Family Research

I know that my ancestors migrated from France to the Nova Scotia area and were forced south by the English. Women were transported south by the British and the men followed to be near their families. It was a ploy by the British to rid the area of French immigrants. I believe that my surname derived from the name "Riche" (accent mark over the "e"). Some of the many names in my family tree include: Boudreaux, Guedry, Marquette. My mother has done extensive research on our family name and continues the genealogical search to this day.
