Eugene Jack Phillips rented an apartment with his wife, Hazel M., their son Bernath E., and two daughters Beatrice E. and Eleanor Elizabeth at 25 West Main Street in Waynesboro, PA. Eugene was 32 years old, Hazel was 29, Bernath was 8, Beatrice was 6 and Eleanor was 3 1/2. Eugene immigrated into the United States in 1910 and was naturalized in 1916. He was born in Hungary in 1886 (I know, the numbers don't work...), Hazel, Bernath and Beatrice were born in PA, while Eleanor was born in Camden, New Jersey. It is noted that Eugene worked in a machinist shop.

Eugene Jack Phillips lived with his wife, Hazel M., their son Bernath E., and two daughters Beatrice E. and Eleanor Elizabeth in the house they owned at 946 Mulberry Avenue in Hagerstown, MD. This house was valued at $8000, and the family owned a radio set. Their ages were: Eugene, 43; Hazel, 39; Bernath, 18; Beatrice, 16; Eleanor, 13. Eugene's parents were both born in Hungary. Eugene worked as a "Peacemaker" at Moller Organ Factory, and Hazel was a substitute teacher for the public school system.
