I am researching Absolom Mitchell's parents. I know that he was born in 1808 in SC but do not have a county.There are several stories that have been handed down through the years. One was that they and the Kirks left SC together. The other is that they brought an Indian Family with them. Also some claim as to having Indian ancestors but can find no connections. My branch of the family is George Mitchell by his second wife who was Mary Pittman.His wife was Minerva Ellen Fisher. I found her in the census for Choctaw County as a boarder.She is listed as a school girl. I have his descendants but do not have his ancestors. I think his father may be George Mitchell that lived in Montgomery and Choctaw County in Mississippi but have no proof. I am trying to find any siblings.We have a Family Reunion every year on Memorial Day. We welcome any Mitchell researchers or descendants of other Mitchell Families doing research.
