This genealogy website is dedicated to our families - past, present and future. I continue to add new names, dates and photos as they are discovered or as new family members are added.
This website contains two family trees:
(1) The descendents of Mathia Thielen, who was born before 1730 in Germany
and
(2) The descendents of Theodure Decker, born on June 29, 1863, in Kehlen, Luxembourg.
These two families were joined together when my parents, Cletus Arthur Thilen and Monica Agnes Decker, were married on February 8, 1955 in Dubuque, Iowa.
This Web Page includes the names of 720 individuals who span over 11 generations and include 175 surnames.
If it weren't for the efforts of a number of wonderful people, this project would not be possible. Special thanks goes to my uncle, Thoralf Theodure Thielen, known around the world to some as Fr. Bud and as Fr. Korby to others. Without his decication, hard work and persistence, we would not be priviledged to know our families. I have the easiest task of entering and updating the information in the computer.
