We have some old letters from the 1800's, we have Civil War History that lists both Joseph Brayton,(Permelia Spencer) and his son Sidney Brayton who both volunteered from Wisconsin. Sidney Brayton(Mary Melissa Pratt)lived in Monticello, WI, had a family there, several who spent their entire life there. One of his daughters, Siddy, was my husbands grandmother. We want more info on Joseph, where he was born, and buried, and more info on his immediate, and extended family. We know that one of Joseph's brothers, and at least one grandaughter, Chloe, moved to Iowa or Nebraska in the later 1800's. We would like to find more of the extended family to chart a family history. We also have letters written by one of Sidney's daughters, Efie, from the 1880's. She mentions her sister Chloe living "out west". Any additional info would be welcomed. We have found out that Joseph Brayton's wife was Permillia Spencer, they had at least two daughters, Helen, and Laura, and a son Sidney, and that in 1884 they were living in Fayette, Iowa.
