John William Fletcher was born 24 Nov 1818 in Barnsley, Yorkshire, England. John was married at least twice. He married Sarah Ann Horton (b. abt 1820) from Warwickshire. They had at least 4 children:
Lucy Ann (b. abt 1840 in Barnsley)
Samuel H. (b. abt 1843 in Barnsley)
Jane (10 Oct 1849 in Sheffield)
Charles (b. abt 1854 in Sheffield).
John married Jemima Farnell (b. 5 Aug 1843) on Jan 26, 1864, in Manchester, Lancashire. They had the following children:
Louisa Fletcher (b. 1860, m. Joseph Hague and Patrick McCarrick)
Lucy Ann Fletcher (b. 1865)
Thomas Fletcher (b. 1868)
The family moved to Huddersfield, Yorkshire in about 1869 and then had the following children:
Emily Fletcher (b. 16 Jun 1870)
Florence Fletcher (b. 22 Jun 1872, m. Harry Fisher)
Lillia Fletcher (b. 15 Oct 1873, m. Frank Hancock)
Albert Fletcher(b. 16 Aug 1875)
Harry Fletcher (b. 1879)
Walter Fletcher (b. Feb 1881)
Ernest Fletcher (b. 04 Feb 1883)
Frank Fletcher (b. 01 Oct 1885)
John William Fletcher died in 1891 in the Sheffield Workhouse as a "lunatic".
