i can trace my familr roots bach to berks county ,pa. around 1725 my great,great,great grandfather was peter reif, peter moved to montgomery county, around 1763,or 1764.then to shenaandoh valley of virginia, settling in what later becam rockingham county. prior to ,or near the beginning of the revolutionary war, he went to the roanoke valley, and settled at the mouth of the seneca run.near the present town of elliston,va. later he continud his westward course across the new river into wyth county.there he remained the rest of his life. he had 7 childeren, 6 boys and one girl.my great great grandfather was gabriel was born in 1763 in pluaski va. he married elizabeth (betsy0 munsey. my great graddfather was gordon rife born 1820 and married to sally mullins. my grandfather was sheridan rife born apr. 1855 and married to winnie elkins they had ten children,sheridan remarried to nancy rose mullens they had four children.my father gordon cloyd rife born nov.1878 was married 4 times and had a total of 25 children, his wives were sarah jane belcher, 10, children, louisa justice sullivan 8 children, nancy dotson, no children, susie gibson 7 children. any one with any stories or information of any kind i would love to hear from you. jt
