Karl Peter Petersson (son of Petter Larsson and Britta Oldsdotter) was born March 16, 1848 in Farnebro Parish, Varmland, Sweden, and died April 22, 1925 in Fruitland Twp, Mi. He married Anna Lovisa Bengtsdotter in Farnebro Parish, Varmland, Sweden.

Karl Petter was listed as a crofter in Farnebo, where they had a maid named Anna Lisa Andersdotter. Farnebo is a rural parish located north of Filipstad, Sweden. In Michigan, he was a farmer, there is a map in the scrapbook of his land. On April 22, 1881 Karl Petter Petersson immigrated to America from Asphyttan, Farnebo Parish. When he emigrated, there were so many Petersons on the boat that the family changed their name to Lund. He became Charles Peter Lund. Lund was a military name given to soldiers and was a common Swedish name. It means grove of trees. Accompanying him on his journey were his wife, Anna Bengsdotter, age 24 [b: June 6, 1857 d: Nov. 22, 1923. Carl Verner- son, age 5, Gabriel- son, age2, Clara-daughter, age , and Carolina Bengsdotter, sister of Anna, age 20. Elinor Reinertson, gr. daughter of Karl and Louisa, remembers Karl as a very kind man. He would always stop at the Peterson Market and buy a bag of candy for his grandchildren when he came to visit. On his way home, he would get to a certain point and tie the horse reigns to the wagon because the horses knew the way home. He would then sing Swedish songs all the way home. Charles [Karl] and Anna are buried in Fruitland Twp Cemetery in plot #31 between Southgate and Northgate Drives. The scrapbook has maps showing where Charles and John's farmlands where. There are also several deeds for the land he bought and sold. They grew potatoes and raised chickens.

Carl P. Lund dies Mr. Carl P Lund, of Fruitland Township, died Wednesday morning at Hackley Hospital, aged 77 years. he was born in Sweden, March 17, 1848, and came to this country in 1881, making his home the past 37 years in Fruitland Township, engaged in farming. His wife Anna Louise Lund, died in 1923. Mr. Lund is survived by 5 sons, Charles W. Lund, of Moline, Ill., Gabriel of Fruitland, Earnest W. of Moline, William of Muskegon Hts., and Victor Lund of Muskegon; Six daughters, Mrs. Martin Mickelson and Mrs. Tom Reinertson, both of Muskegon Hts., Mrs. Fred Johnson of Muskegon, Mrs. Frank Shephard of this city and the Misses Agda and Mabel Lund, at home; a brother, John Lund, of North Braddock, Penn.; 31 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. pg. 16 Lund- Carl P. Lund, age 77, died Wednesday at Hackley Hospital. Funeral will be held 2:00p.m. Saturday at the Clock Funeral Home, Rev. Nels Norberg officiating. Interment will be made in the Fruitland Township cemetery.
