Please note that although this joint stone has Susie's name on in, her ashes were not buried here. Susie owned her plot however, her daughter refused to have Susie buried there and it is thought that her ashes were taken back to Texas with her daughter.

Obituary- Petoskey News-Review, September 13, 2002
Susie M. Walley, 83, of Boyne City and formerly of East Jordan, died Sept. 12, 2002, at Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey. A Memorial Mass will be held at 1:00p.m. Monday, Sept 16, at St. Matthew's Catholic Church in Boyne City with the Rev. Francis Partridge officiating. A time of gathering for friends and relatives will be held from noon until the time of the service. A luncheon will follow. Interment will take place at a later date in Texas. Susie was born Sept. 28, 1918, in East Jordan, to Cortland and Augusta (Weisler) Hayes. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Lawrence Hayes, and by two sisters, Eva Hitchcock and Helen King. Shr retired from Standard Products in Gaylord. Susie was involved in the Catholic Senior Companion Program, TOPS, Retired Senior Volunteer Program, secretary for UAW Retirer Chapter, Thelma Behling Community Christmas Program, Grandvue Medical Care Facility, and a member of the Democratic Party. Susie loved to spend time with her family and play games, especially cards. She is survived by one daughter, Sharon Horn of Boyne City; grandchildren, including Shane (Linda) Horn of Boyne City, Cliff Graydon of Flint, Roxanna Graydon, Debbie (Arthur) Vergra, Lisa (Tom) Rodabaugh, Stoney (Yvette) Horn, all of Texas, and Marty (Elsie) Weisberger of Indiana; 15 great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Arrangements were handled by Stackus Funeral Home in Boyne City.
