Notes for Bedford Forrest Riley: " My Grandfather"
In the very own words of granddaughter, Frances Lee Riley:
I don't remember my grandfather Bedford Forrest Riley because he died May the year 1939. I was born the following year 1940 on his birthday, October the 6th. I would like to have known him because from all the stories I have heard he was a very colorful and interesting person. I heard stories about his having been a Texas Ranger, about the huge strawberries he raised and about his temper. The thing that stands out the most in my mind is the fact that I lived in his house until I was nine years old.
He must have had something good about him, because my daddy loved him very much. He took care of him and Grandma Riley as long as they lived.
Frances Lee Riley has much love and respect for her whole family. Just perhaps she is very much like her father.
