John Riley married a widow, Sarah Hair (daughter-Rebecca), about 1780 and moved to Mecklenburg NC about 1784. They had sons John, William and possibly a third named Armstrong; also daughters Sally/Sarah, Jane. John the elder died about 1810 and sometime afterward John Jr. along with mother and Armstrong moved west, we think to TN. William (my line) and sisters stayed in NC with William eventually winding up in Iredell county. William married Amy Roberts and had sons starting in 1806 with John, Ezekial, William, Robert, Samuel, Zimri, James and a daughter Dorcas. John ca. 1806 married Temperance Holton and had sons John Addison, and Colombus Washington; also daughters E. Elizabith and Mary. John Addison married a widow Sarah (Smith) Edmiston and had sons John Fletcher and Francis Edger.
