The Ringuets of France,Canada and Louisiana

About Our Family Research


The first of the Ringuet family started in the 1600's. The first residence was in Lille, France in the northern tip of France. Centuries ago the name spelling was Ringuiere. There are several variants. They are Ringuiere, Ringuette, Ringuet,Ranget and a few more.
Some of the families are listed below:
Michel Ringuet born 1670 in Coulgens Dio Angouleme, France to St. Paul, Quebec, Canada. He married Marie Herbaud who was born in 1675 in Coulgens, Dio Angouleme, Angoumois, France. They had a son named Pierre Ringuet born 15 October, 1695 in Coulgens, Dio Angouleme, Angoumois, France. He married 24 June, 1716 to Catherine Buisson (Bush) born 23 August, 1688, He died 1 April, 1765. They married in Baie St. Paul, Charlevoix, Quebec,Ca., a Carpenter by trade. Catherine's parent's were Jean Buisson and Jeanne David. They had a son named Jean born between 1717/1718. He married 25 November, 1738 in Baie St. Paul, Quebec, Canada. Jean married to Genevieve Duchesne.
