I am interested in information on RINEYs in Kentucky, with relatives and descendants in Maryland and Kentucky. Visit my RINEY Links web site for more information: (www.homestead.com/RineyFamily)
Several Thomas Rineys lived in Kentucky concurrently. I am descended from the Thomas RINEY (1758-1818), who married Priscilla (?) circa 1783. Thomas and Priscilla's 7 children were: CLEMENT (b.1786), Robert, Augustin, Susannah (m. Wheatley), Mary Ann (m. Hardesty), Joseph, and Elizabeth Ann (m. Smith). Clement's son, WILLIAM RAY "Old Captain" (b. 1824) had son JAMES WILLIAM (b.1861), who had son ROBERT CLIFFORD (b.1891), who was my great-grandfather.
There is a different THOMAS RINEY (abt. 1725-1795) who had sons Zachariah (Abe Lincoln's first teacher), Thomas, and Basil. Daughters were Henrietta (m. Wathen), Mary (m. Gristy), and Nancy "Anna?" (m. Alvey). I am also interested in information on this family, although I am not a direct descendant.
My tree contains Rineys and their extended families, especially Daviess County, Kentucky descendants. I compiled this list primarily from a book my grandmother has: The Riney Family Tree--compiled by Winifred Riney in August 1981, and have attempted to update it as much as possible with the help of current Riney generations; I would appreciate any additional information. Please e-mail or write: Riney Tree Information, 5248 W. 5th St. Rd., Owensboro, KY, 42301-8307.*****
****** I am also researching descendants of JAMES G. PENDLETON (b. circa 1795), who married Mary Elizabeth "Betsy" Peachey Philbrook in 1806. I need more information about his life and ancestors, please e-mail.
******I am also trying to expand the limited knowledge I have of my maternal family tree. Names I am seeking include: FELDPAUSCH ( Joseph C.--ca1850)., BRISTOW, MILLER, LANEY.
