Martha M. Stapp (b. July 24, 1844, d. October 10, 1916)

Martha M. Stapp (daughter of Joshua R Stapp and Sarah Jane Stewart)⁷⁹⁹ was born July 24, 1844 in Near Livingston, Overton, Tenn⁷⁹⁹, and died October 10, 1916 in Andice, Williamson Co, Texas⁷⁹⁹. She married William Alexander Smith on March 17, 1867 in Florence, Williamson County, Texas⁷⁹⁹, son of Poindexter Patterson Smith and Martha Jane Berryman.

31 Mar 1995 - Mildred M. Marshall: Cumberland Co., VA, 1850 census Raymond R. Minor, age 48 , Baptist Minister; Martha Minor 48; George Smith 16; student Elizabeth Smith 14; Martha Smit h 11; Raymond Minor Jr. 2.

Martha Jane Berryman Smith married 2nd, Raymond Minor Sr., a minister. I have not found thei r marriage but probably in Cumberland County, Virginia. Note: Martha, daughter of Martha Jan e and Poindexter P. Smith married her step-father's son, George W. Minor, which was not unusu al.

I have very few records of Poindexter P. Smith children. Feel sure there could have been a W illiam also.
