He had at least one brother, who married into the same family he did (the Gates), his brother's name was William Alexander Nabers. One of his sisters ALSO married into the Gates family. Her name was Mary Catherine Nabers. She married Charles Valentine Gates in 1883 in Franklin Co, ALa. Mary Nabers was born in 1866 Itiwamba Co, Miss she and charles were living in Itiwamba Co at least thru 1891, and by 1899 they were in Comanche co, texas. They were the sons and daughter of Wiley N Nabers and Martha Leslie. (*middle name probably Newton, as Mary had a son named Wiley Newton Gates* )
