August Ripley, brother Ludwig Ripple and three sisters Walburga (Ripple) Meyer, Francis Ripple, and Rosina (Ripple) Eberle emigrated from Wolfach, Baden, Germany during the 1850's and settled in Kewaunee county and the Milwaukee area of Wisconsin. August emigrate in 1854, Ludwig 1851 and Rosine 1857.
Parents: Joseph Ripple and Victoria Oberfell
Ludwig Ripple settled in Milwaukee (See following site for Ludwig Ripple - http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/ users/b/r/u/Patrice-L-Brusk/index.html), following dispute over spelling/pronunciation of surname. August changed spelling of German last name (Ripple) to Ripley to co-inside with German pronunciation of Ripple. (See Ripple site for more info)
