I am searching for any information about the ancestry of my Mother and Father. My father, Clyde, was born in Greensboro, NC and I know his father, Clyde Crocker, and mother, Ada Bailey, and also his sisters, Ida Lee. Margaret, and Elinor, also known as Joan, but what I need to find is anything about his Grandfather. His name is Henry Lee Bergman and I know he immigrated from Frankfort, Germany before the turn of the century, late 1800's. Any info about him and his wife would be appreciated. Henry's brother was Julius.
Also, I am looking for info on my Grandmother's family. Her name was Parthenia Elizabeth Hicks she married Gurley Monroe Ingold in 1908. She came from Virginia, where she had been placed in an orphanage and was hired out to Edwin M Holt and his wife Elizabeth, who raised her. I know she had 2 brothers and possibly a sister. They were Stanley and Kenneth Hicks and her sister may have been Katie. Her father was James H Hicks and her Mother was Josephine E. I need to know Josephine's maiden name and middle name and any other family info, I am trying to make a connection to the Hicks family of Virginia. She claimed that she was a descendant of Pocahontas and that I understand is who half of Virginia claims kinship to. They may have lived in the Petersburg area. I know she was placed in an orphanage in Danville. She was born in 1890.
I can readily obtain info about Gurley because we still have a lot of contact with that family, if anybody needs that info.
