The Ritchie-Tatlow Family

Updated April 27, 2008

About Our Family Research

This is a start on my family tree. Most of the information was taken from two sources: a family tree project complete by Cyndee Bradley for her grandparents', Dick and Anna Marie Browning, 50th wedding anniversary (9/22/1984) and The Beede/Beedy Genealogy Page (http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~nvjack/beede/index.htm). Other sources used were Genealogy.com as well as Ancestory.com and my own files and recollections.

Going back to my great-grandparents, my family tree includes MILLER, HARGRAVES, and POLK on the RITCHIE side and CROW, HART, and BEEDY on the TATLOW side.

On the Ritchie side, the Ritchie family disappears into Helena, Arkansas at the turn of the century (1900). There are many Ritchies in Arkansas who came through Canada and Kentucky from the UK and I have not figured out which branch (vine?) is ours. The Polk family can be traced back to John de Pollack who was born about 1560 in Glanderston, Scotland. For Hargraves and Miller, I have not done enough research.

The Tatlows are traced back to Thomas H. Tatlow in Delaware(where he married Eliza Jane Barr in 1824). The Crows go back into Denver, CO to the mid-1800s. The Harts go into Missouri in the mid- to late 1800s. The Beedys have been traced back to Eli Bede of the Channel Islands, France around 1699. I am hoping that my mother and uncle have much more of the Tatlow-Hart information.

The recent update added some Ely information going back to the UK.
