My family research started with aquiring a book published in 1973 titled Record of McMillan and Allied Families. It details the history of my ancestors in the south Georgia area. I have added research conducted by my late mother in law on the Rivers and Barbour familes of South Carolina and North Carolina respectively. I continue to trace lines back from my own and to trace descendants of some members.
My maternal grandparents are Ola Mae Nobles and Warnell Willis. They had 10 children, 9 of whom are still living. Every second weekend in July, the family gets together for a reunion. Currently, we are 103 strong with another child on the way.
I believe that who we are is in part based on who preceeded us. You can't know where you are going until you know where you have been.
A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, And loving favor rather than silver and gold. Proverbs 22:1
