Currently have family trees for these families: RIVERS, BOLING, NICKLIN, MCDERMOTT.
Family RIVERS documented back to father's grand-father, Julius RIVERS, circa 1850, in VT. Looking for parentage and immigration facts. Origin formerly believed to be French or French-Canadian due to family oral history. Now origin believed to be English. Recent reading "Jane Eyre" uncovered the fact that RIVERS was a notable name during the time of the early King Henrys in England. Will pursue that research. Plan to use resources such as message boards and census documents.
Family BOLING documented back to mother's grandfather circa 1870 in VA. Local courthouse burned, frustrating search. Recently was told Richmond may have duplicate records. Will use other sources to determine parentage and origin. Local relatives active in history may be a help.
Family NICKLIN documented back about 3 generations. Origin is England and immigration time is known. Names of relatives in England are known. Locality is known. Research here should be easier than other lines.
Family MCDERMOTT documented back about 2 generations. Not much here but records should be available.
