THOMPSON - MASSACHUSETTS, U.S., 1630 to ONTARIO, CANADA

Updated April 28, 2004

About Our Family Research

A one surname lineal descent, of the Thomson-THOMPSONs, from the first James1 Thomson of Mystic Side/Charlestown, Massachusetts, who is said to have sailed with the Winthrop Fleet in 1630 or 1633 [of 1630-1635], through the family's Thompson lineage of Wooburne-Woburn, Massachusetts, and on to that of Brimfield, Massachusetts, U.S.. Concluding, with an outline of the only known line of Thompsons to emmigrate, out of the U.S., to Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada in 1810-1814...and on to the present, stopping with this writer living in the Niagara Peninsula of Ontario, Canada. His mother, her brother and his one cousin, being the only living Thompsons, left of this line.

Covering non-living Thompsons only, from:
Frieston-Fishtoff, Lincolnshire, England
Charlestown, Woburn, Brimfield, Massachusetts
Clymer-French Creek, Chautauqua, New York State
St. Johns, Michigan
Cherry Valley, Prince Edward County, Ontario, Canada
Wainfleet, Ontario, Canada
Jordon, Ontario, Canada
Beamsville, Ontario, Canada

All of my files will be eventually found in the Brimfield, Massachusetts library for general use, and small lookups, with the permission of the librarian, Mrs. Joyce Beaton. You may wish to contact the Brimflield Library to donate found materials to their THOMPSON section. Contact: Joyce at brimfield@cwmars.org to discuss the particulars or your needs.
