Jonah Roberts one of the patriarchs in many ways in the black community called Nettleridge during the 1870 and being the first black man to file in probate court a land deed over 600 aces. Jonah also built a school for blacks on his land. Jonah was well known throughout the county because of the Smith and Blankenship Family.
