My father recently died who had begun to try to find out about our relatives.
They came from the New Silksworth area. His Grandfather was Alfred Robson,(1896 to 1940) he married Elizabeth Ann Lorriman who died in childbirth with her daughter Elizabeth. Frederick born 1917 and Elizabeth their children emigrated to New Zealand in the 1960s. Alfred and the rest of the family came to live in Featherstone in Yorkshire. Two brothers emigrated to America. One stayed there the other returned. One had his own haulier business in Featherstone. The rest i do not know about. Alfred was born in Tunstall, New Silksworth, he had 5 brothers and 2 sisters, their fathers name was John. (Possibly John, Ray or Reay)One of his brothers was called William Robert Joicey Robson.
The family is believed to be linked with the Joicey Family.
