My father's family does not agree on the spelling of our last name. Two brothers spell their name Robison, while the others spell it more commonly as Robinson. There is written documentation supporting either spelling, but as I know from my own original birth certificate 'people' write or type Robinson when you say and spell ROBISON. My fathers signature was Robison in perfect penmanship on my birth certificate, but yet the officals typed ROBINSON for my last name. I believe that because of these mispellings and because my great-great-grandfather was an orphan, that our family name could be either, but we have numerous documents where my grandfather spelled his name ROBISON. I would like to solve this mystery.
