I am doing a family research on the Robertsons for the sake of posterity. Few records were available as the rural people of the Civil War era were in desperate circumstances.I have no records on the ancestors of John W. Robertson, or his wife- Elizabeth Finly.Bible records show that tere were eight children born of this marriage(1847). Three are known to have survived to adulthood and migrated to Catahoula Parish,LA. One of them was my grandfather, William Whitfield Robertson, born in 1858 and died in 1919 in LaSalle Parish, LA.`
