The Johnson family are descendents of Swedish and Finnish ancestors who came to America in the 19th century. Great grandfather Alfred Johannson [sic] and his wife, Ida, lived briefly in Moline, IL, where some of Ida's relatives remained, and then moved to Jamestown, New York, in Chautauqua County.
Our cousin Gosta Hedstrom who still lives outside Stockholm has visited us here in America many times. He is the official family genealogist.
Alfred Johnson was a builder and contractor who made a fortune prior to the Depression and lost it during the Depression. He retained several properties, however, which housed his son and then his son's son's families on Barrett and Newland Avenues in Jamestown.
Included in this family tree is information about Raymond A. Johnson's wife Barbara Forsberg and the Forsberg family, who came from Varmland, Sweden, in 1927.
Any Forsberg or Johnson relatives who find this site are invited to write to my email address!
