Anton Miksatko was born in Bohemia on 2/17/1836 or 11/17/1836 and was married to Anna or Mary Remta also from Bohemia. There first child Frank John was born in Austria on 10/16/1871. They came to the United States in late 1871 or early 1872. They had a small farm in Calmar, Iowa. Their second son Michael James (also listed as Mattias or Matt) was born 7/8/1879 in Iowa. He worked on the railroad as a section hand and was hit by a train and died on 10/15/1945. A third son Vac (James) was born in Conover, Iowa in 1885 and died on 10/21/1901 at age 16 of heart problems. My Great Grandfather Frank left the area and married Laura Ruth Sprague in Colfax Wa in Sept. 1905. They had 3 boys. Harold Francis, George and Norman. Harold (my grandfather) date of birth is 9/19/07.He married Hazel Lloyd. They had 5 children. Jerry (my dad) born 5/7/1938, Steve born 7/21/41, Robert Norman born 3/2/45-3/17/45, Nancy Lee 5/13/46, Susan Joan 12/2/49.
